>>>After taking an extended vacation to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends, I am ready to go back to work. I must admit that for the most part, I have had the best of times. Some of the moments however were bittersweet as I was reminded of my brother's passing one year ago. I do not believe in "pity me" stories, so instead of feeling sad or blue, I decided to celebrate this holiday season the way I know best.... outside with nature and my camera!
My brother Jean-Pierre was an incredible human being and a GREAT photographer. I was seven years of age when he bought me my very first camera..... a Canon. It was love at first sight. Back then, we shot film and black & white. Jean-Pierre, Nelson (the dog) and I would often times go on seven miles walks at a time in search of capturing the most beautiful images. We had the best fit dog in town. Saturday night at the house was often spent with the dog sleeping, trying to recuperate from his long walks, JP and I in our homemade photo lab, aka the bathroom, processing our images for that day. It was the best of times!
This year, I decided to make this holiday season the best of it all. I set myself a personal challenge to completely stay away from social media and internet services. Truth be told, when one is a business owner, it is a little hard to do. So .... Yes... every now and then, I did a little peeking.
The break that I took has allowed me to reset my priorities, be more focused and productive. I have set new goals for 2015, and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.
Cheers to 2015!<<<
